Spectra RMS* Electronic Trip

Spectra RMS Molded Case Circuit Breakers (SE150, SF250, SG600 and SK1200) have a digital, solid state, RMS sensing trip system with field installable, front-mounted rating plugs to establish or change the breaker ampere rating. Adjustable instantaneous with tracking short-time is standard on all frames. The trip unit uses digital sampling to determine the RMS value of sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal currents.

Spectra RMS Molded Case Circuit Breakers with microEntelliGuard* Trip Units (SG600 and SK1200). The microEntelliGuard Trip Unit is the newest and most advanced trip unit available in the Spectra line of molded case circuit breakers. Based on the EntelliGuard* TU trip unit platform, the microEntelliGuard trip unit allows you to select the enhanced system protection, coordination, metering and communications options required for the application. It features adjustable Long-Time, Short-Time, Ground Fault, and Ground Fault Alarm for enhanced time-current curve adjustability.  It offers options for metering (basic and advanced), protective relay options, Neutral Protection, waveform capture, RELT, Zone Selective Interlock (ST/GF/INST), and direct Modbus communications. Other features that enhance system protection and diagnostics include long-time thermal memory, trip indication, programmable output contacts, and an LED ″Health″ status indicator.

The Extended Instantaneous (Selective) versions of the SK1200 with microEntelliGuard (SKS and SKT) offer all of the features of the standard microEntelliGuard circuit breakers, while adding higher Selective Instantaneous pickups (to 25.5x sensor). GE’s waveform recognition Selective Instantaneous allows microEntelliGuard trip units to sense the operation of current limiting devices below, thereby allowing optimum protection settings. When coupled with GE current limiting devices downstream and other Instantaneous Zone Selective Interlock (I-ZSI) capable devices upstream, circuit breakers equipped with EntelliGuard family trip units, including Spectra with microEntelliGuard provide selective coordination without sacrificing arc flash risk.
